What a treat it was to sample and sell kraut at the Santa Barbara Fermentation Festival this weekend! With about 600 people expected, we got to talk kraut with over 800 people on the beautiful Fairview Gardens property under a delicious blue sky. A huge thanks to Katie and her crew, Mountain Feed and Farm Supply, and all of the inspired fermenters who made this a truly cultured event.
We kicked off the festival with a kraut-making demo at their beautiful bamboo-covered stage alongside an old farmhouse (very appropriate!) with festival attendees rushing in the gates to get their hands covered in weepy, salty cabbage.
